About
liveforownhappiness is a blog about traveling, eating, and living in Korea, written in plain English for visitors and expats. Everything here is based on first-hand experience — places I've actually been, food I've actually eaten, and the small, practical details that guidebooks tend to skip.
Who's writing this?
I'm Deokgi Kim, and I live in Korea. I started this site because I kept seeing the same recycled, slightly-wrong advice about Korea written by people who had never set foot here. My goal is the opposite: honest, specific, up-to-date guides, with my own photos from the actual places I write about.
What you'll find here
- Travel guides — neighborhoods, day trips, and how to get around.
- Food — what to order, where to find it, and how much it really costs.
- Living in Korea — the everyday practical stuff: convenience stores, transit, cafés, and culture.
A note on accuracy
Prices, hours, and details change. I update posts when I notice something has shifted, but if you spot anything out of date, please tell me on the contact page — I genuinely appreciate it.
